Passport validity, gagawing 10 years.

Unopposed last election and a 3 termer congresswoman of Pampanga, Cong.Gloria Macapagal Arroyo passed a house bill to the congress that aims to extend the validity of passport up to 10 years.

"A five year passport validity is rather too short given the tedious process and cost it requires to obtain or renew a passport" CGMA says with regards to her House Bill No. 487 or the proposed Act Amending Section 10 of the Republic Act No. 8239 also known as Philippine Passport Act of 1996. 

If both the congress and senate passed the proposed bill , the passport validity will be extended up to 10 years the same with the recently amended Seafarers Idectification and Record Book (SIRB) validity. Thru this, the additional 5 years will greatly help all Filipino Seafarers to both save time and money with regards to the use of their passport.
