The President of the Maritime Union United Filipino Seafarers (UFS), Engr. Nelson Ramirez, invites every Seafarer to join the upcoming rally this October 14, 2015, in front of Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Manila Branch. Meeting place is in Luneta around 8 AM, the march will start at 10 AM.

The purpose of the said rally is the following below:
  1. No to MARINA Advisory to RETAKE the licensure examination if you were not able to use your license during the last 5 years, If a person is continuously practicing his profession he is gaining more knowledge.
  2. No to 90% passing average on 5 competencies of OIC level and more than 10 competencies on Management Level.Even the bar examination don't use this grading system.

  3. No to the NEW MANAGEMENT LEVEL COURSE, which is too long. The REVISED MLC is more than enough.
  4. No to MARINA Advisory 2015-20 Requiring holders of BST certificates but without COP to retake the full course. This is an insult to seafarers who are continuously practicing their profession who are gaining more knowledge everyday at sea.
  5. No to the unscrupulous assessment centers like FREEMAROBI, INTERSEAS, NOTIP and BLUE HORIZON who are propagating the scandalous assessment and spreading the lost MARINA COP certificates at T.M. Kalaw.

PRC passers that haven't secured their COCs yet are strongly encouraged to join the rally to fight for your rights. You may inquire at UFS office at 4th Floor Room 402, Gedisco Terraces Bldg., 1148 Roxas Blvd., Ermita, Manila, Philippines.
