Are you a cadet,a fresh graduate and looking for a shipping company to start your career with? Unfortunately, you don't have an idea on what to expect upon applying to those companies. Worry no more, this article will guide you to your first job hunting experience.

1. Proper APPEARANCE

Having a good physical appearance is very important to make an impression that you are already ready to work.

Haircut

Cadets haircut must be clean and neat. One must let go of their K-Pop and "Manok" styled hair and must embrace a clean urban look.

P.S. Worst case scenario is when the manning officer ordered you to shave your head.

Uniform

Make sure that you wear a presentable, clean and properly ironed uniform. Cadet's uniform reflects his personality both on job and his personal life. Most senior officers in manning agencies and shipping companies are very particular with uniform for they see themselves wearing the same uniform when they are still cadets. You must be SNAPPY as you wear the uniform

Height is our destiny and WEIGHT is our Choice" . Cadets body built must be appropriate for his age and for his rank. So if you think that you already need to move and workout, start now, it will not only help you look good, but it will also help to make you healthy for your future medical exam.

Shaved Beared/Moustache

Learn to shave thy temples and "Bigote". It is still part of having a good initial reaction when they see you to have a shaved moustache.

2. Sufficient KNOWLEDGE

Manning agencies and shipping companies expects you to have a knowledge of the things on board for you already study for 2 years( for 2-1-1 scheme) or 3 years( for 3-1 scheme) before you apply to them. Most companies requires you to take an exam. So you better start to open your PDF, PPT or your notebook and review before going to a company.

3. Complete Documents 

Cadets must have completed all the needed basic requirements for him to have an edge over the other applicants, below is the list of documents needed

• Basic Training (Both COC and COP) 
• SAT and SDSD Training(Both COC and the COP)
