Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) published a proposed circular on their website last Jan. 26, 2016 namely
STCW Circular No. 2016-01.

This proposed circular tackles about the updates on the Daily Journal of Bridge Watchkeeping Duties (DJBWD) and Daily Journal of Engine Watchkeeping Duties (DJEWD) as well as the new form to be use.
The following are the changes to be applied if this circular ever gets
approved.
- The Daily Journal is not a requirement anymore for the Licensure Examination and for the issuance of Certificate of Competency (COC) for OIC-NW and OIC-EW.
- However, Daily Journal is now a mandatory requirement upon enrolling your Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in marine transportation and marine engineering.
- There are updated forms to be use, see those below.

As you can see in the form, the entries aren't filled hourly unlike before, it is now by
duty. This will be a HUGE relief for our aspiring officers!
